IT IS AS SIMPLE AS A B C
THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE is perhaps one of the most unique languages in the world. Colloquialisms abound.
A B C is often used as in – “It is as simple as A B C”. In other words – “It is so simple that even a child could understand it”. Let me ask you, are you familiar with God’s A B C’s? That is a strange question, isn’t it? God’s A B C’s are facts given by God that are simple to understand. However, bigotry and a closed mind can cloud even these simple facts. I hope that you have an open mind because I will tell it as it is – exactly as God says it.
“A” – THIS STANDS FOR “ALL”
“All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3 v23)
Isn’t that a comprehensive statement – “All”? No mortal can escape out of that one. If we are honest we will all confess like King Saul, “I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD” (1 Samuel 15v24). Transgressing God’s commandments is only one aspect of sin, but if you are honest you will have to admit that it is impossible to keep all of God’s Law, law which forbids disobeying your parents, forbids committing adultery, forbids stealing, lying and covetousness. God says, “There is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Ecclesiastes 7v20). You are not excluded from the list – it is as simple as A B C.
“B” – THIS STANDS FOR “BEHOLD”
“Behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find YOU out”
(Numbers 32v23)
How often, even in this life, men eat the fruit of their own doings. Convicted criminals are behind bars – their sin has found them out.
THE SOLEMN DAY IS COMING
Even though perhaps some of your sins have never been found out, yet there are two witnesses to those sins – your conscience and God. It is an absolute certainty that sooner or later your sins will find you out. With determination they will follow you to the grave and rise with you in the day of judgment when you will meet God.
The Bible says’ “In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, by Jesus Christ” (Romans 2v16). That day is described in Revelation 20v11-15. “And I saw a Great White Throne, and Him that sat on it (Christ)…And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their (sinful) works…And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
“C” – THIS STANDS FOR “COME”
“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1v18)
What greater promise could you want to hear than that? Isn’t that simple? The question may arise, “What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?” (Job 35v3). The reply is, you will be eternally in heaven instead of in the lake of fire. Concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, God says, “In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Ephesians 1v7). “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures…He was buried…He rose again the third day according to the scriptures”
(1 Corinthians 15v3-4). You can be forgiven, cleansed and made fit for heaven by believing that He died just for you. God says it – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16v31). God says it and it is as simple as A B C.
